No biceps of steel but it did cause a massive disruption, and good lengthy incident report on my behalf. But this wasn't my fault, I promise! (Confirmed by F9 maintenance). But this photograph is of a recent incident on one of my trips last week. As you can see, we weren't going anywhere! I was getting ready to shut the main cabin door and wave goodbye to Albuquerque, when 3 inches from closing the door, the emergency slide/box falls off the door. (Of nothing I did- but I did take this photo to cover my tush if questioned!)But this caused a lovely 5 hour delay, mmm good old 5 hour airplane appreciation, seriously sitting on the airplane for 5 hours with nothing to do. I'm amazed by two things, #1 this heavy thing didn't break my foot when it hit the floor, #2 the slide didn't blow/inflate (a flight attendant's horror nightmare=instant drug test) and hurt someone -the gate agent or myself. Just like an airbag in a car, you don't wanna get too close when it inflates!
